As of now this is the most recent rover design. There is a camera and LIDAR mounted to the front of the rover. The camera is fixed and provides feedback for teleoperated driving. The LIDAR scans for potential obstacles (things over 15cm high), and alerts the operator if a hazard is detected. The large boom coming off the top of the rover holds a 720p camera on a pan/tilt assembly. Its goal is to enhance the vision capabilities, allowing the user to survey the landscape, plan a path, or look for items of interest. As far as mechanical design, the camera boom needs some work in order to be finalized. Remaining work on the rover design includes working out details about where the electronics enclosure, cpu cooling system, and LIDAR will be mounted.
